MURRAY THROUGH IN RODGERS CUP

Andy Murray has defeated Flavio Cipolla of Italy in the second round of the Rogers Cup. Murray won the match easily and smashed his opponent in the straight sets by 6-1, 6-3. Murray has been in fine form in the last few months. He won the gold medal in the men’s tennis singles competition of the London Olympics by defeating Roger Federer in the final a few days ago. Murray has been given the second seed in the competition. He took just 82 minutes to cruise to the third round.

The British superstar was in a furious mood right from the beginning of the match. The Italian player was able to win only one game in the first set. Murray got two breakthroughs (in the second game and in the sixth game) in the first set and won the first set without having any problem. After losing the first set, Cipolla lifted the standard of his game and played some good shots in the second set.

He held his service in the first and the third game and at the end of the fourth game, the scores were leveled at 2-2, which saw some punters having a bet at betvictor.com that Cipolla would regain a set.

But, he couldn’t carry on the momentum for too long. Murray broke his service in the fifth game and then held his service in the next game to take a lead of 4-2. Both the players held their service in the next two games. The score was 5-3 and Murray needed to win just one more game to win the match. He didn’t waste time and broke Cipolla’s service in the ninth game to wrap up the match.

After the match, Murray told the press conference (sponsored by online betting from Bet Victor) that he has played a lot of tennis on the grass court in the last two months. So, it was not easy to play on the hard court all of a sudden. But, he is happy that the things went all right for him in the match. In the third round, Murray will play against Milos Raonic of Canada.
